CALLOUT for AWME 2014 Conference Proposals
AWME is currently accepting proposals from industry associates who would like to suggest and potentially present relevant topics and speakers for consideration in the 2014 Conference Program.

ARTISTS/BANDS WISHING TO SHOWCASE AT AWME 2014 ARE REQUIRED TO MEET AND FULFILL THE SHOWCASE CRITERIA AND CONDITIONS.
AWME 2014 SHOWCASE CRITERIA AND CONDITIONS:
* Artists/submissions need to be EXPORT READY.
* Artists need to be available to attend and perform at AWME on any day with NO PROGRAMMING DATE RESTRICTIONS.
* Artists/submissions must have PROFESSIONAL MANAGEMENT or be established as a successful self-managed group/musician.
* EXCLUSIVITY IS A CONDITION OF SHOWCASING AT AWME.
* Artists/submissions need to have PROFESSIONAL HIGH-QUALITY PRODUCT & MARKETING MATERIAL, including website, CD/s, recent live performance film clips, detailed recent biography and good quality high-res images.
* Artists/submissions need to be ready and willing to tour or perform nationally and internationally if performance opportunities are brokered.

In 2013, AWME received about 600 local and international artist submissions via the AWME website and Sonicbids. AWME showcasing artists are selected by a panel of music industry professionals, with programming advice from music consultants.
2013 MUSIC PROGRAM ADVISORS:
A member of the Bundjalung nation, Widjabul clan of Northern NSW and South East QLD, Rhoda’s involvement in the arts is extensive. Rhoda has been involved with a number of large events in varying roles and has worked as Artistic Director for a number of festivals, including the 1997 Cultural Olympiad Festival of the Dreaming; the Sydney Dreaming Festival, and the annual Dreaming Festival held in Woodford, which she founded. Rhoda is also well known for her experience as a journalist and presenter, including positions with SBS television, Network Ten, ABC radio and on the current affairs program, Vox Populi. Rhoda has recently been appointed head of Indigenous programming at the Sydney Opera House.
Stani is the presenter and producer of 'Flight 1067 to Africa' on PBS106.7fm every Sunday between 3:00 and 5:00pm. The program features music from all over Africa and takes the listener on a musical journey around the African continent to discover the rich and diverse sound of Africa. Born and bred in the Congo, Stani grew up in Brazzaville literally across the river from Kinshasa, the capital of African dance music. Growing up in such a musical environment undoubtedly instilled a deep passion and appreciation of African rhythm. Highly regarded as an experienced and knowledgeable presenter, Stani’s involvement in community radio started in 1990 soon after arriving in Australia.
A lifelong devotee of music, comic books, literature and film, Jordan runs the touring and management agency Top Shelf, which presents unique artists and events locally and internationally. Top Shelf has grown to its zenith, representing a diverse array of artists from across the globe and nurtures an artistic environment where new ideas, collaborations and creative projects are put to work. Top Shelf currently represents a diverse roster of local and international music with a focus on innovation and virtuosity. Top Shelf is an artistically orientated company working as an alternative to the mainstream. Jordan is also co-curator of GRAPHIC at Sydney Opera House and has been heavily involved in its initial conception, execution and program. Chris Wade is the owner/director of Adastra Agency based in the North of England, which she established in 1987. The agency represents artists from all corners of the world. Its aims are to ensure the best deal possible for its artists and promoters, which has gained the agency a great deal of respect worldwide. Currently, the agency supports a wide range of artists from traditional to contemporary, acoustic to electric line-ups and concert to dance acts - www.adastra-music.co.uk. In addition she is the founder and Artistic Programmer of the Beverley Folk Festival, now in its 30th year. Michael Havir has worked as a composer, musician, arranger, performer, musical director and sound designer in many productions including theatre, dance, film and TV, theatre spectacles, community arts, interactive technology and world music. He toured extensively with Yothu Yindi and has performed with Warako Musica, Frank Yamma, Skazz, Afro Mandinko and The Melbourne Ska Orchestra. www.michaelhavir.com
